Lloyd and Nyree’s wedding was the last ever wedding that is going to be held at Pecanwood in the KZN Midlands, which kind of gave me a sense of nostalgia throughout the day especially since it was one of the first venues in the area and a stunning one at that.
The ceremony was held at the Kingdom Hall in Pietermaritzburg, followed by a very rainy creative shoot at Pecanwood. After a while we all decided it was just too cold and wet to carry on shooting, so I went in to the reception hall to start setting up. After a while, just as I was wondering if they were going to come in to start the reception, the best man came up to me and told me Lloyd and Nyree want me to go outside. As I came round the corner I saw that it had stopped raining and there was a magnificent sunset. Lloyd and Nyree ran into the garden saying ‘Take some pics, Colin!’, to which I replied ‘Wait, I need to set up a flash or it’ll just be silhouettes’. It was too late, they were merrily basking in the sunset so I grabbed some shots and we headed off to the reception.
What a great day. Nyree told me that they both absolutely loved their wedding, which is the most important thing. Congratulations guys!
Thank you for these lovely photos, Colin – you did an amazing job in very difficult weather! Linda (Nyree’s Mom)
Thank you so much Linda, it was a wonderful day despite the weather. Wishing Lloyd & Nyree a full and happy lifetime together.
Your photos are amazing Colin & the clarity & colour despite the awful weather excellent! We met briefly when I was topping up the water in the venue flowers. Pat Gallus (Floral Fantasy).
