If you’re reading this and considering a beach wedding venue, I can highly recommend Umtamvuna River Lodge in Port Edward. Your photographer (hopefully me) will thank you. It has everything – multiple ceremony locations for both open and covered ceremonies, a lovely intimate and ambiant log cabin reception venue and a cosy bar. It’s rustic and homey with plenty accommodation, tall palm trees, a swimming pool and more. It really was an excellent day and I’m looking forward to my next two weddings that I have booked there.
Zach and Bronwyn are a great couple from JHB who I only met for the first time on their wedding day. They had a few minor mishaps leading up to their wedding in that the hair / makeup artist cancelled at the last minute, and their marriage officer too. Luckily Bronwyn is very resourceful and all worked out great in the end. For the creative shoot we took a long boat ride down the river to the beach, and no sooner did we arrive and it was starting to go dark. I had to rely on my fast prime lenses and off-camera flash in order to get good exposures. This is the first wedding reception I’ve been to where smoke breaks have been included in the program. The dancing was really fun and the evening concluded with a bonfire on the beach. At 5am the next morning Zach and Bronwyn headed off to their honeymoon.
Thanks so much for choosing me to document your big day guys, hope you like the pics!
