André & Brigitte Engagement – Shongweni and Kloof

I met André and Brigitte at the crack of dawn in Shongweni where we began their engagement shoot. Brigitte had told me that they have a red MG Midget convertible car, so that’s where the idea came from to have a vintage road trip theme. Nearby the location where I had in mind was a couple of giant power pylons which I decided to incorporate too, which gave us a sense of grandeur and vastness. She also mentioned that she would love some photos by a waterfall, so after looking around at a few, I decided that the one at the Kloof gorge was going to be the best. I asked if they were keen to get a bit wet. It also gave us opportunity to do some shots on the way there, because you have to follow a path through bush and do a bit of climbing too.

The wedding is going to be in June at Old Halliwell, which I’m really looking forward to. It was wonderful spending the morning with you guys, a bit of exercise at dawn was just what the doctor ordered!
