Wildlife & Sunsets – Kruger National Park

I am not a wildlife photographer by any stretch of the imagination. I don’t own one of those bazooka-sized lenses or know the movements of every animal off by heart, in fact there were quite a few birds and other animals that I didn’t even know the names of at all. One thing is for sure though, I was never going to spend a week in the Kruger Park and not have a good crack at it.

Our trip started with an overnight visit to our friends Lynn & Kobus in Secunda, then an overnight stop at Blyde River Canyon. Then we headed into Kruger and stayed the night at the Orpen camp which was peaceful and quiet, and we spotted a lot of game in the area too. Then we went through to Skukuza which is the main camp and unfortunately very crowded, although there is the highest concentration of wildlife in the area. Crocodile Bridge camp was our last stop which was lovely and quiet but with less sightings. We were sad to eventually leave, it was a wonderful holiday and we’ve already started planning our dates for next year when we return.
