I love weddings that have a rustic twist, there’s just something honest about them. Lee and Odette are two down-to-earth souls who love live music, so Lee had arranged Durban’s premier reggae band The Meditators to play at their wedding as a surprise to Odette. When Lee announced them she was absolutely floored, it was a really special moment.
Under the Marula is one of those venues where I go shoot and hope that I will get booked to shoot there again, it has a country feel to it that is unique. The reception hall is all wood and the chapel is thatched with open sides, it’s set deep in the heart of the Shongweni valley.
