Alfred & Abigail – Braeside

Alfred and Abby hail from Ghana, and the majority of their guests came down for the wedding too. Abby must be one of the cutest little persons in the world, and for her wedding she had everything planned to a tee. When I arrived at Alfred to shoot his preparation she had made sure he had all his details laid out and ready for me, and the same thing when I arrived at her preparation too. The ceremony was held at the Kingdom Hall in Ballito followed by the creative shoot at the Microlight Airfield and another secret spot of mine. The reception at Braeside was wonderful and festive.

Thanks for being so great on your wedding day Alfred and Abby, it was wonderful to be a part of it.

Angie & Raj – The Rain Farm

I’ve never met a more humble couple, especially for two people who hold masters degrees in their respective fields. This was a truly mixed wedding with people from all over the world and from all walks of life, all coming together to celebrate the love these two have for each other. Raj for one was born in India, raised in the USA and now lives in KZN as a missionary. Angie was totally radiant and surrounded by all the people who are dearest to her. This really was a memorable wedding for many reasons. The ceremony and creative shoot happened at The Rain Farm, everything else was at Orchid House which is Collisheen’s smaller venue.

Congrats Angie & Raj, it was a privilege being part of your big day.

Danie & Natascha – The Boathouse

The are three words I can use to describe Danie & Natascha’s wedding at The Boathouse in Ballito. The first is ‘wind’, the wind was so strong that it was blowing my tripods and lights over. Natascha’s hair and vail were blowing all over the place, to the point where her dear sister and maid of honour Zelmarie was actually holding it in place through most of the ceremony. It also presented a challenge when it came to doing the photo shoot. The second word is ‘family’. All the family members had flown in from all over the country for the wedding, and from what I was told a lot of them had lost their tickets back home because of 1Time closing down. It didn’t effect the mood at all though, because everyone was in the greatest of spirits and did their best to make Danie and Natascha’s wedding wonderful. The third word is ‘love’, because sometimes you can just feel the close and deep love that not only the bride and groom have for each other, but all the family members too. There was an extraordinary amount of laughs, fun and hugs all around and everywhere you looked.

It’s not often that the groom goes to the photographer at the reception to ask if he’s had dinner, but that’s just one small example of how great this couple are. What a wonderful wedding, congratulations Danie & Natascha. Thanks for choosing me to capture your big day, it was a real honour!
