Angie & Raj – The Rain Farm
I’ve never met a more humble couple, especially for two people who hold masters degrees in their respective fields. This was a truly mixed wedding with people from all over the world and from all walks of life, all coming together to celebrate the love these two have for each other. Raj for one was born in India, raised in the USA and now lives in KZN as a missionary. Angie was totally radiant and surrounded by all the people who are dearest to her. This really was a memorable wedding for many reasons. The ceremony and creative shoot happened at The Rain Farm, everything else was at Orchid House which is Collisheen’s smaller venue.
Congrats Angie & Raj, it was a privilege being part of your big day.

Craig & Lisa – Providence
Craig & Lisa was my last wedding of 2012, and it was great ending the year off at a stunning venue like Providence. The amount of attention paid to all the details was incredible, well done to everyone involved.
It was a really hot day, one of the hottest of the year I believe. When I arrived to photograph Craig’s preparation he was in the pool, and that’s where him and his groomsmen stayed the whole morning. I can’t say I wouldn’t have done the same myself. From there I went to a salon where Lisa was having her hair done, then to her parents house where she had her make-up done. The ceremony was held in the chapel at Providence, there was a lot of laughs and had a real close family feeling about it. Lisa’s dad and sister played in the band for the hymns and they had a bagpipe player too. An interesting fact is that Lisa, along with her two sisters (who were both bridesmaids) used to work at Providence while they were studying.
Congratulations Craig and Lisa, it was an honour capturing your big day. I hope you enjoy the photos!

Kobus & Lynn – The Moon and Sixpence
The Moon & Sixpence has to be one of the most beautiful venues I’ve had the privilege of shooting at, I could have spent three days shooting there and I probably still wouldn’t have run out of shots. Kobus and Lynn both live and work in Secunda, although Lynn is originally from the KZN South Coast. They’re a really fun couple who had so much fun on their wedding day, and everything just went swimmingly from the morning preparations through to the reception dancing.
This was my first of three weddings in a row, so we caught the morning red eye flight back to Durban the day afterwards for Ryan & Jennifers wedding in Bulwer.
Thanks so much for your hospitality Kobus & Lynn, see you in Durban soon!

Patrick & Lauren – Providence
Everything about Patrick & Lauren’s wedding was just stunning. The boys got ready at Springholm Resort which is right next door to Providence, they were full of fun. One of his groomsmen was a photography lecturer from Joburg, no pressure for me then! I only met Patrick on the day of the wedding, which isn’t unusual because a lot of my couples are from out of town.
Lauren was seemingly as calm as any photographer could ask for, she got ready at Brookwood Manor in the Midlands. Her maid of honour was her sister, and she helped out in any way she could.
I didn’t have an assistant at their wedding, so I must say a huge thanks to the groomsmen and bridesmaids who stepped in to hold my reflector here and there. Congratulations Patrick & Lauren, your wedding was wonderful and I wish you all the best for the future!

Sikhulile & Tema – The Windmills
When Sikhulile first mailed me I was already booked for his wedding date, but the other wedding ended up being cancelled so I got in touch with Sikhulile and they booked me. There is something a bit deeper about Sikhulile, a bit of a quiet strength about him. Tema had a very emotional morning, as she was getting ready she got a phone call from one of her family members to say they were running late. She burst in to tears, but after a bit of gentle comfort from her bridesmaids she was ready to take on the world. She has the most pleasant nature, shy but smiling and she enjoyed her wedding day.
Even though I always make sure I shoot all the expected photographs of the details and family members at every wedding, my blog is the place where I showcase my favourite images and the ones that showcase my style. These are some of my favourites from Sikhulile & Tema’s wedding. Enjoy!
