Gareth & Kerrey – The duBoirs
Gareth and Kerrey came down from Joburg to get married at The duBoirs near Hillcrest, it was a great day and they were really fun to work with. Gareth is the organiser between the two, while Kerrey seemed calm and collected. The ceremony was held under the big tree in The duBoirs gardens followed by some heartfelt speeches and a good party at the reception. There wasn’t much afternoon light to work with when it came to doing the creative photos, so I had to use the surroundings to create some mood.

Alfred & Abigail – Braeside
Alfred and Abby hail from Ghana, and the majority of their guests came down for the wedding too. Abby must be one of the cutest little persons in the world, and for her wedding she had everything planned to a tee. When I arrived at Alfred to shoot his preparation she had made sure he had all his details laid out and ready for me, and the same thing when I arrived at her preparation too. The ceremony was held at the Kingdom Hall in Ballito followed by the creative shoot at the Microlight Airfield and another secret spot of mine. The reception at Braeside was wonderful and festive.
Thanks for being so great on your wedding day Alfred and Abby, it was wonderful to be a part of it.

Angie & Raj – The Rain Farm
I’ve never met a more humble couple, especially for two people who hold masters degrees in their respective fields. This was a truly mixed wedding with people from all over the world and from all walks of life, all coming together to celebrate the love these two have for each other. Raj for one was born in India, raised in the USA and now lives in KZN as a missionary. Angie was totally radiant and surrounded by all the people who are dearest to her. This really was a memorable wedding for many reasons. The ceremony and creative shoot happened at The Rain Farm, everything else was at Orchid House which is Collisheen’s smaller venue.
Congrats Angie & Raj, it was a privilege being part of your big day.

Craig & Lisa – Providence
Craig & Lisa was my last wedding of 2012, and it was great ending the year off at a stunning venue like Providence. The amount of attention paid to all the details was incredible, well done to everyone involved.
It was a really hot day, one of the hottest of the year I believe. When I arrived to photograph Craig’s preparation he was in the pool, and that’s where him and his groomsmen stayed the whole morning. I can’t say I wouldn’t have done the same myself. From there I went to a salon where Lisa was having her hair done, then to her parents house where she had her make-up done. The ceremony was held in the chapel at Providence, there was a lot of laughs and had a real close family feeling about it. Lisa’s dad and sister played in the band for the hymns and they had a bagpipe player too. An interesting fact is that Lisa, along with her two sisters (who were both bridesmaids) used to work at Providence while they were studying.
Congratulations Craig and Lisa, it was an honour capturing your big day. I hope you enjoy the photos!

Ryan & Jennifer – Hillside Lodge
There’s something about Bulwer. It seems every time I go there I feel awake and alive, maybe it’s the fresh air and wide open spaces. I was stoked when Jennifer called me to say they had changed their venue to a farmhouse with an amazing view in the country. The only trick was that I had just stepped off the plane home from Kobus & Lynn‘s wedding the day before in Muldersdrift, but the tiredness disappeared as soon as I got out the car and breathed in the fresh air. With camera in hand, I went in to cruise control.
The setting was absolutely stunning and the weather was perfect. Ryan and Jennifer along with their closest friends and family were all smiles the whole day. Congratulations guys, I wish you all the best for the future, and thanks so much for considering me when you changed your date too. It was a real privilege spending the day with you and your loved ones.
